There are multiple timelines to the Newdawn Saga.

Newdawn Roamers begins in 2018, going back to 2098.

Newdanw Central continues in 2020, going back to 2098.

Newdawn Reboot takes place in 2098, opening the doorway to what takes place in Roamers and Central/

Newdawn Rising builds on the events of 2022, going further into the past with discovered alien technology.

Inside the mountain within a series of underground cavern, two competing forces exist. The Center is a research facility hidden off the grid.  Its purpose is to develop new scientific and technological advancements from this era with the smartest minds from around the world based on an artifact found in 2018 by Chase Davenport.

Further below, deep inside the bowels of the Earth, behind a series of tunnels carved into the rock, and hidden beyond shields unknown to humankind, another abandoned edifice is revealed...
